Synchronizing Runbooks in SCSM 2012

One of Directions Training’s Microsoft Technical training experts wanted you to know about a recent student issue he had.

Issue: After creating the System Center Orchestrator connector in SCSM, the Orchestrator connector was successfully created in System Center Service Manager. However, the Runbooks are not appearing in Service Manager.

To resolve this perform the following steps:

  1. Add the SCSM service Account to the SC Orchestrators Admin group “OrchestratorSystemGroup” which is also a member of the Local Administrators group on the Orchestrator server.
  2. Use the SCSM Service Account for the connector account instead of a Separate Orchestrator service account.
  3. Sync the connector.

From the Service Manager console, you can view the progress of the synchronization of Orchestrator and Service Manager by clicking the Administration node, click Connectors, and select the SC Orchestrator connector. You can also click on the Synchronize Now task to initialize a manual sync.

You can verify the synchronization of the Runbooks by selecting the Library node and clicking on Runbooks. The list of Orchestrator Runbooks should be listed.
